900 MHz (GSM) exposure to rats and analysis of cancer (Benz(a)Pyrene-initiated sarcoma bioassay) |
Details |
|
Sprague Dawley rats injected with 2mg Benz(a)Pyrene at 2 months of age. Rats exposed (in groups of sham and RF exposed at 0.075 or 0.27 W/kg [whole body average]) in an anechoic chamber to 900 MHz (GSM) 2 hr/day for 2 weeks beginning at either day 20, day 40, or day 75 post-injection. No increase in sarcoma incidence or progression was observed due to RF (by palpitation and monitoring anti-phosphatidylinositol autoantibody levels). There was also no production of anti-phosphatidylinositol auto-antibodies (used as a circulating monitor of malignant transformation). Animal survival was not modified by RF exposure |
