900 MHz (GSM) exposure system construction and characterization (low cost) |
Details |
|
A 910 MHz (GSM) exposure system for in vivo exposures of rats and mice was developed and characterized. The exposure system employs four rectangular Plexiglas cages with holes at the back for the tail to poke out and holes in the top to allow passive ventilation, but no active air circulation or other temperature control. Exposure is from a dipole antenna "circularly homogeneous at precise distances," allowing equal exposure to the heads of four animals at a time. FDTD calculations using simulated animal models yielded whole body SAR with a maximum output power of 2.2 W of 0.42 W/kg in the head (10g average). |
