Wistar rats were exposed to 10 kHz RF at 0, 0.095, 0.24, and 0.95 mT (background exposure 5-10 uT) for 20-23.5 hours/day for up to 45 days during post-mating, mating, and pregnancy (including spermatogenesis, maturation of ovum and ovulation, fertilization, implantation, embryogenesis, organogenesis, and fetal development). The authors report no biologically significant effects on reproductive toxicity.
Evaluation of potential health effects of 10 kHz magnetic fields: a short-term mouse toxicology study. In a related study, B6C3F1 mice were exposed as above for 14 days (acute study) or 90 days (subchronic study) at 0.08, 0.28, and 1.0 mT (background exposure 3.7 uT). The authors again report no consistent effects of exposure on animal behavior, morbidity, body weight, or clinical chemistry and hematology parameters.
