945 MHz (GSM) exposure to rats and analysis of oxidative stress markers in the blood |
Details |
|
Wistar rats (n = 9) were exposed to 945 MHz (GSM) RF (to replicate base station exposure) in a TEM cell for 7 hrs/day, 8 days at a calculated SAR of 0.11 W/kg. Blood samples for analysis were taken after exposure. The authors report increases in oxidative endpoints as observed by MDA analysis, as well as significantly increased SOD enzyme (2.53 +/- 0.87 vs 1.79 +/- 0.72 units/mg Hb) and decreased GSH (7.84 +/- 1.15 vs. 19.19 +/- 1.64 mg/g Hb) levels
