Danish utility workers were followed in a large cohort study (n = 28,224 males + 5,788 females) for leukemia, brain, and breast tumors using a revised job exposure matrix and longer period of follow-up. The highest exposure category was >1.0 microT average exposure. The authors report increased overall mortality rates from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and electric accidents, but not from cardiovascular, cerebrovascular disease, or arrhythmias. |
