50 Hz ELF and direct electrical current exposure to Staphylococcus aureus and analysis of growth |
Details |
|
Staphylococcus aureus (grown in suspension or in gel matrix) were exposed to static and 50 Hz (ELF) fields and direct current electric fields. In fluid medium, exposures to direct current electric fields decreased CFU/ml by 37%, and ELF exposure in combination with direct current decreased CFU/ml by 36%. The authors suggest such exposures during bone healing may also be effective in reducing infections. |
