ID Number 2103
Study Type In Vitro
Model 50 Hz (ELF) exposure to cells in vitro and analysis of gene expression and enzyme activity.
Details

HaCaT human keratinocytes were exposed to 50 Hz PEMF and analyzed for expression of nitric oxide synthases (NOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), both demonstrated to be involved in the wound healing process. Exposure increased inducible NOS and endothelial NOS expression, increased NO production, decreased COX and PGE-2 levels, and increased AP-1 expression and cell proliferation. The authors suggest ELF exposure may be an effective therapeutic treatment to facilitate tissue regeneration.
