Static magnetic field exposure to isolated pig phrenic nerves and analysis of induced electrical current. |
Details |
|
Isolated pig phrenic nerves (n = 15) were exposed to a magnetic field via a 15 cm coil to induce an electrical current. While longitudinal magnetic field orientation relative to the nerve should produce significant coupling and induced electrical current, the authors also report an induced field due to a transverse mangetic field orientation. The authors suggest this is due to the path of the nerve fiber having significant undulations due to different fascicles within the nerve trunk. |
