Model Static magnetic field exposure of rat uterine horns and analysis of endometrial responses as a possible method of contraception
Details

Wistar rats (n = 20 females) were implanted with intrauterine devices in the uterine horns that exposed them to a sham field or a static magnetic field. IUDs of copper and IUDs that were magnetized both resulted in cellular infiltration of leucocytes and monocytes through the endometrium, with the magnetic IUDs also causing leucocyte accumulation over the endometrial surface. The authors suggest a role of static magnetic implants for intrauterine contraception.
