Static magnetic field exposure to sunflower seeds and analysis of germination and growth |
Details |
|
Sunflower seeds (Helianthus annuus) were exposed to static magnetic fields between 0 and 250 milliT (steps of 50milliT) for between 1 and 4 hours. The authors report decreased time to germination and increased seedling length and dry weight, root length, root surface area and root volume and improved seed coat membrane integrity (reduced cellular leakage and electrical conductivity). The authors report a maximal effect at 50 milliT and 200 milliT for 2 hours. |
