1800 MHz (GSM) exposure to the plant Mimosa pudica and effects on cell signaling |
| Details |
|
Plants (Mimosa Pudica) were exposed to 1800 MHz (GSM) RF with an incident E-field of 10 mW/cm2 and analyzed for visible curling of the leaves (this occurs naturally in response to thermal, mechanical, or electrical stimulus when the normal -170 mV potential difference between the intracellular space and the plasma-lemma is reduced -50 to -150 mV). RF exposure did induce visible leaf curling (expressed as 6% deformation) suggesting an effect on the plant action potential. |
