Wistar rats were exposed to 900 MHz for 4 hours at 0.3 W/kg (GSM), 1.5 W/kg (GSM), or 7.5 W/kg (CW) (brain average). No effects on c-fos, c-jun, or hsp 70 were observed at 0.3 and 1.5 W/kg (GSM). Hsp-70 elevations were observed only at 7.5 W/kg in a pattern consistent with heat stress (hypothalamic nuclei, cerebellum). Increases in c-fos were consistent with the restraint stress, but not with exposure. 24 hrs post exposure there was no increase in fos or jun family proteins, and 7 days post exposure there was no increase in cell proliferation or altered astroglial or microglial marker proteins. |
