400 MHz (CW-radio), 800 MHz (CW), 1900 MHz (PCS) exposure to medical devices and analysis of electromagnetic interference |
Details |
|
Medical Devices were tested using a 400 MHz - 5 watt radio, an 800 MHz - 0.6 watt analogue cell phone, and a 1900 MHz - 1 watt peak PCS cell phone and using the ANSI C63.18 ad hoc test protoco. Exposure to the radio and 800 MHz analogue cell phone was reported to cause some device interference. The authors conclude that the ad hoc testing protocol (ANSI C63.18) is a practical tool for individual clinical engineering departments to evaluate EMC in their facility. |
