900 MHz (CW/NMT, GSM) exposure to mice in combination with X-rays and UV and analysis of chromosome damage |
| Details |
|
CBA/S and transgenic K2 mouse strains were exposed to 900 MHz (CW/NMT) at a SAR of 1.5 W/kg or 900 MHz (GSM) at an SAR of 0.35 W/kg or 0.5 W/kg, all for 1.5 hours/day, 5 days/week for 1 or 2 years in a rectangular waveguide (as part of cancer bioassay studies WHO EMF project #15 and #16). All but the cage control animals were exposed to either 4 Gy X-rays or 1.2 MED of UV radiation during the first 3 weeks of the experiment. Analysis of erythrocytes showed no increase in the rate of MN formation under the RF exposure conditions. |
