Model 60 Hz (ELF) exposure to rat T-cells and analysis of Ca++ uptake
Details

Rat thymic lymphocytes were exposed to a 60 Hz (ELF) sinusoidal magnetic field at non-thermal levels. The authors report Con A-dependent 45Ca++ uptake was increased. However in subsequent studies the effect of a non-thermal 3-Hz, monopolar, quasi-rectangular magnetic field pulse for 30 minutes was found to reduce Con A-induced 45Ca2+ uptake. The authors suggest various mechanisms to explain these effects.
