2450 MHz exposure on rabbit len cultures (in vitro) and analysis of cataracts and damage |
Details |
|
Cultured rabbit lenses were exposed to 2-4 GHz (CW & PW) MW for 10-15 minutes at power densities between 0 and 200 mW/cm-2 while being maintained at 37 degrees. Damage and ascorbic acid levels were assessed. Ascorbic acid decreased significantly in the lenses when measured 1-3 days after exposure. No differences were found, however, between exposed and control lenses subjected to identical time-temperature conditions. The authors interpret their findings as a thermal effect of the MW exposure. |
